Was it 1988…
or 1994?
Hear the hit, place it on the timeline, beat your friends — one phone is the speaker, everyone else scans a QR.
Hear it. Place it.
Start a party
Sign in and tap start. Your phone is the speaker, the screen, and the DJ booth.
Friends scan in
One QR code. No app, no accounts — the whole room is in before the chorus hits.
Bet on the year
A mystery clip plays and everyone places it on the shared timeline. Keep the years in order to score — fastest fingers break ties.
Real hits
Songs the whole room knows — no obscure tracks, no trick questions — and every release year is checked by a human.
One QR, all night
Guests scan once and ride along game after game — rosters, scores, and rematches just work.
Any crowd
Warm up solo or pack the living room. Popline never caps your party.
Free to host
Hosting costs nothing and your friends always play free.
Where does the music come from?+
Official 30-second previews, streamed on demand from Apple Music / iTunes (with a Deezer fallback). Nothing is downloaded or ripped — and every track in the pool is a certified hit with a human-verified release year.
Do I need Spotify or Apple Music?+
No. The previews stream free — no music subscription for the host, no accounts for guests, nothing to install for anyone.
Which device plays the audio?+
Only the DJ's. One phone — or the laptop plugged into the TV — is the speaker. Everyone else's phone is just their answer pad, so weak Wi-Fi barely matters for guests.
How many people can play?+
No cap. Two players works, twenty works. Everyone joins through the same QR code, and anyone arriving mid-game spectates until the next one starts — usually a few minutes.
Is it family-friendly?+
Yes. A human reviews every song before it enters the pool — release years verified, explicit tracks screened out. Grandma can lose fair and square.
Is it really free?+
Free to host, free to play, no player caps. Down the road we may sell premium song packs (decades, genres) to hosts who want them — the core game stays free.
Everyone knows
the words.
Nobody knows the years.
Tonight's party needs a DJ. It takes about forty seconds to become one.
